Unveiled for Common Ground

For the Common Ground exhibition, it was important for me to choose a theme that connects without overlooking differences. Unveiled is a portrait series at the intersection of fashion, identity, and representation.

At its core are five protagonists whose stories are shaped by strength, vulnerability, and self-determination – expressed through their bodies, clothing, and presence. I was interested in how inner experiences can be translated outwardly, how styling and fashion, for example, go beyond mere surface and become part of a personal narrative?

For us, combining portraiture and staging was a way to make diversity visible – not by smoothing over differences, but by highlighting them in all their complexity. Unveiled puts authenticity at the forefront and shows how varied the path to identity formation can be.

As part of Common Ground – an exhibition that links social questions with personal perspectives – this project is my contribution to increased visibility, dialogue, and mutual understanding.
