Unveiled highlights the act of making visible what was previously unseen. The editorial explores the theme of hidden violence—both mental and physical—and how individuals reclaim their identity through fashion, styling, and self-expression. Each of the five protagonists carries a deeply personal story of struggle, resilience, and transformation, illustrating how their life experiences have shaped their identity.

Quote

„I create from pain – a companion that’s been with me for most of my life, and still lingers. My art offers a space where trauma isn’t hidden away, but transformed.

As a genderqueer person living with chronic illness, I give voice to what often remains unseen: unwanted emotions, gaslit pain, queerness in its roots and the process of healing in a world that wants me and my siblings to be sick if not dead. My body is the smallest part of me - my soul speaks through it... my sick voice, broken movement, undimmed color and non-binary shades.

For me, art is resistance – but also a place to finally breathe and for fellow souls to resonate and find themselves in parts of me.“

Quote

“Only getting away made me realize what being alive and loved is supposed to feel like. Only then was I able to build a life for myself that was worth living. I'm the happiest I've ever been, but I will never get my lost childhood back.

Truthfully and despite everything, the guilt of breaking off contact is still haunting me years later. I wanted to love my parents more than anything in the world, but in the end, you cannot change people, that are not willing to change.

But I can change myself. Ending the cycle of abuse and allowing myself to be passionate, childish, joyful. Whether that is through playing the flute, painting, knitting, modeling, being with the people I love...

Life has so much to offer and I'm excited for what the future might bring!”
