City of Girls is a project by the artist collective Mothering Artist with girls from the 7th and 8th grades at Mittelschule Reichenaustraße in Munich.
Over several months, the participants explored a central question: What could a city look like if it truly belonged to everyone? A city shaped by friendship, courage, solidarity, and the freedom to imagine a different future.
Through rehearsals, conversations, shared experiences, moments of uncertainty, and plenty of laughter, the girls developed their own ideas and visions. The process became a space for exchange, self-expression, and collective imagination.
The resulting photographs document not only the project itself, but also the confidence, strength, and presence the girls developed along the way.
